Water is a resource in crisis. The escalation of the world’s population, the emergence of a rapidly growing middle class, the spread of urbanization and industrialization and the advent of global warming have all contributed to the dramatic rise in demand on our shrinking water supply.
In order to respond adequately to expected shortages, the world community is challenged to develop creative solutions for recycling, desalination, loss prevention and irrigation. The world water market, already valued as a $450 billion industry per annum, is expected to grow across all sectors by hundreds of percentage points in the coming years.
Israel, located in one of the more arid regions of the globe, has been forced to deal creatively with the conservation and management of its own limited water supply since the state was founded over 60 years ago. Today, the State of Israel manages one of the most highly efficient water infrastructure systems in the world. Israeli water technology companies are considered to be the foremost leaders in their respective fields and are central players in the global water market. There is no doubt that in the coming years, Israeli water companies will be significant benefactors in this high growth industry.
