Transcript

Generally speaking, desalination is still a very small portion of the world's supply water, currently it is 1,000's of the whole world consumption. However, in specific areas that are more arid, take for example the Gulf States, 95% of the water comes from desalination.

This movement towards desalination is something that we see all over the world. Australia installed some of the largest plant in the world. South Africa, Algeria, Tunisia are currently very much based on desalination. China and India move fast to this technology.

The desalination could be viewed as a standard technology. So the point in winning large tenders is in bringing in creativity on the solutions so we can reduce the price of water. In some places this can go by very aggressive energy skims for the energy consumption of the plant. In other places it would be using more advanced filtration systems before the desalination plant. In every country the competitive edge will be different depending on energy prices, on chemical prices, on many other things.

The ability to strongly master all this disciplines and understand them thoroughly, together with the ability to optimize, to bring all this elements on each plant, decides the competitive edge. Now, in Israel, as has been in this kind of industry or this kind of developments for many years, both in the desalination area and in other areas related to energy consumption and hydraulics a lot of knowledge has been accumulated within a group of Israeli companies that allows us to be very competitive almost any where in the world.
